still overfuelling
Miks15 - 16/9/10 at 02:09 PM

I am still having problems getting my car to run at all at the minute. Its a 1.6 BMW running gsxr600 carbs and gsxr600 fuel pump. I have had it going before using gravity feed, but even then it only fired up when the fuel had run out of the funnel we were using to feed.

When cranking it over and opening the throttle, fuel sprays out of the carbs, quite a bit of it. Should this be happening?

The only things that are connected are the fuel inlet and throttle cable, are there any other connectors i need to get it going properly?

I have asked before and checked all the things that were recomended but they seem fine so im still a bit stuck

any help greatly appreciated

Might sound like a silly question, but do you definitely have the fuel pump connected to the correct port on the carbs?

If you are inadvertently pumping fuel into e.g. the float chamber vents then you'd certainly get serious overfueling.

its the only connection on the bottom the carbs. so pretty sure its right.

Its just strange because i have had it running, the only thing i can think is if mabye the bowl are over filling? would this do it? All the floats move freely and all the valves shut, but could they be shutting in the wrong place meaning overfilling the bowls?

Are the carbs and pump from the same bike?
If the pump from an injection engine, it wont work.
