radiator query?
shed head - 24/9/10 at 03:45 PM

Hi there, first post...
putting a 2.0l black top zetec into my Tiger and need to source (among a host of other things) a rad, have been told in the past that a mk2 polo one will do the job. but from which polo engine or does this make any difference?
Any advise would be great.

Welcome to the mad house.

You'll find the search function helps find a lot of stuff. Took a couple of mins searching "polo rad" to find this thread. There's plenty more with the part numbers as well.

I've also been looking at the Polo VW302... I'm running a 2.0XE around 210bhp - will this do the job?

Anyone???

Just before I do what I do best and buy one only to subsequently find out that it's useless!

i know a couple of people running xe's on that rad with no issue - although they are a few hp less than you. A lot of the westy lot run that rad as well - why not buy it for twenty odd quid (see my post about ebay) and then you cant lose too much when you sell it

That's exactly what I'm trying to avoid Mike!

If it's not too late, you could have a look at the VW349 radiator. This is the one fitted to the 2 litre diesel Polo, Seat Arosa and other models. It certainly has more capacity than the rad they use on the smaller engine Polos but dimensionally is not too different.

Not jumped in with my size 11's yet, so open to all suggestions!

Thanks for that one!
