Im building a BEC and want to use steering wheel paddleshift. The problem is the paddles are designed to work with a smaller wheel and will not
operate correctly whillst using the big Sierra steering wheel. I have read several threads which indicate that you have to use the standard wheel to
pass IVA. If anybody has some advice/ideas how to get around this I would be greatful, obviously after IVA I will be changing the wheel to a smaller
sportier item.
Cheers Dan
Whats the problem using thSierra wheel? My paddles wouldn't work with one because they hit the edge of the casting for the steering lock to
engage on. Not having the steering lock I cut the rim back with angry grinder and it cleared.
You don't have to use the Sierra wheel for IVA. It just makes it easier as it increases the exempt area on the dash for radius' and the
padding is garrenteed to pass.

Was there not a post on here something about if you have no windscreen then the area behind the steering wheel is none exempt.....
I used paddles with a Sierra wheel for SVA. You had to take your hands off the wheel to use them but as it is only for driving it off the trailer and then mainly for Mr Tester to do his speedo test then it's not too much of an issue.
