is there an engine/power thread anywhere?

Done a search and have found loads of individual posts but was thinking it'd be handy to help choose a heart for my next toy if there were some examples of what people have achieved in one thread,ie silvertop with cams x bhp,x torque ,4age x bhp, x torque etc, bec's and the like.if its already been done can someone send a link please,if not any chance of organising one?just a thought,I'd find it handy as I'm sure others would.

that's a great idea, as i am looking for a proper power plant for when i am 21

The problem is in comparing like for like.
A hundred different figures from a hundred different rolling roads wont give a fair comparison.
It's a interesting idea though and I'll contribute if such a thread is created. It would need to be a sticky though.
It'll be like bragging rights in the pub!

Oh I know there's bound to be tall stories! but it might give ideas other than the usual engines that spring to mind,a lot of which are pretty old hat now,and the old 100hp per litre doesn't account for torque, which seems to vary massively between what appear to be similar engines.

Would be a great idea - but I would add that all posts in the thread should include a rolling road graph of the results to back them up rather than just guesses. Then at least there will only be a few % difference theoretically.

turbosports forum have a power plot section, the biggest problem seems to be the conversion from the at the wheels numbers to flywheel

There's a website dedicated to this very subject. Post your figures, details and use the online digitiser to upload a graph which can be compared to other graphs posted.
