1600 zetec fly wheel problem
Duncan Mould - 14/10/10 at 08:38 PM

I currently have a 928M6398AG flywheel on a 1600 zetec block LIH YK68275 is this correct? Ford say it should have a 928M6K390 fitted to that engine. Whats the difference? There was no fly wheel fitted to the engine when I got it and the breakers sent this one. Having all kinds of problems at low revs, suspect CPS as the drillings may be in different spots?
Is their any Ford men out there that can confirm my babblings.

I'd be surprised if the drillings were different. They are the same between 1.8 and 2.0 Zetecs.

1.6 is the same as the 1.8 and all three use the 36-1 pickup.
There is no Immobilizer set up in the flywheel like Rover /Mg's

Have you looked at the cam timming / checked it with a Timming kit.

Its a 5mm plate that holds both cams and a pin that holds the crank.

Check cam timing first, The sensor may need cleaning or could it be that an automatic sensor is being used these ar different sizes I belive so potentially will affect the ability to pick up the signall effectively
