Fireblade upgrade

Over the winter I am going to replace the head on my 93' Blade, as the cam shaft followers are worn and noisy, with one from my spare, bottom end damaged, 95' one, just hope it fits. While I am doing this is there anything I can do to up the power of the engine, maybe polish the head ports, have the head skimmed, modify the carbs (Dyno jets fitted) anything considered as long as it's reasonably locost. If its not been jetted yet then thats a good cheap starter, and an airbox makes a huge difference from a sausage filter
