I would like to move my rad forward and more upright in the nose cone, but it has a rad cap on the top which would need to be taken off and the resulting hole blanked off,

The rad top and bottom are black plastic

my idea was to remove the cap, and neck, leaving a hole, then make a plastic sleeve that would go inside the hole, glued in place with epoxy/fiberglass then patch the outside as well

Any thoughts ??

Maybe plasitic welding compaines can help.

Depends what plastic it is in part, a lot arent that sticky, i dont know whats common in radiators, but say glass reneforced nylon is a bugger to glue to.

As said, a plastic welding company might be able to do a job. But dont forget theres a fair bit of presure in a modern system. You dont want to end up wearing your 105deg C cooling loop contents at 75 on the motorway.

What's the reason for moving it forward and more upright?

If it's improved cooling/airflow you're after then it might be simpler to make some ducting in the nose to channel the airflow better.

If it's space you're trying to create for something else (oil cooler maybe) then the Polo rad is the way to go. IIRC they can be had for less then £40 from Northern Radiators.
