Type 9 clutch "throw"??
cliftyhanger - 7/11/10 at 08:30 AM

I am just playing about making my pedal box, and need to work out how much movement I need for the clutch cable at the pedal end. If that makes sense? Dont want it too short, or indeed too long/heavy.
Anybody able to make a measurement or know what it should be?
Cheers
Clive

edit....mated to Zetec 1800 silvertop, looks like std clutch, arm etc.

Think its got a fair ammount to do with the clutch itself

I changed from Pinto to Zetec and found the clutch "action" to be different
I /think/ it may be to do with the fact the zetec clutch was designed for hydraulic rather than cable
(so only needs a little ammount of movement between engaged/disengaged)

Not got measurements of how much cable gets pulled or anything useful to hand

I found when I first fitted the Zetec I could push the clutch too far in before hitting the stop on the bulkhead, so had to make a few adjustments to solve the isssue
Clutch felt quite switch like at first, but got used to it quickly

Regards
Rob
