Snake oil, or will it work? Thoughts please

Saw this on ebay and wondering what you chaps and chapettes think. 1 TUNING CHIP Mazda 626 Demio Tribute MX-5 RX-8 MPV MX5 on eBay (end time 11-Jan-11 23:19:50 GMT)

OK, so now instead of a 1p resistor then now sell a 5p chip..... that does the same thing. And they tell you its not the cheap resistor.
Keep well away.
In 6 months time there will be something similar that is 'not the 5p chip'

For £7.95? for a 'tuning chip to add 30 BHP'? snake oil? .......................

You can bet it is

balidey - 5/1/11 at 01:33 PM

Its not snake oil. Snake oil is harmless, these things are dangerous. They trick the ecu into leaning off the mixture (If I have read it right) so maybe its ok for a couple of miles and it will give more power, but don't expect the engine to live very long.

lol look at it. its a chip stuck in a bit of bread board, and a few wires. erm, no

He deserves a Nobel prize, he's only gone an discovered how to produce monopole magnets!

FUEL SAVER Buick Roadmaster Grand Centuary Electra on eBay (end time 05-Jan-11 21:49:43 GMT)

It works by charging fuel molecules with a single polarity, this means the molecules repel each other which results in the fuel dispersing more efficiently allowing a better combustion.

LOL! I bet you one-meeeeeelion dollars that is a resistor network chip with one of the resistors on it used. What a bl**dy nerve! At least the scumbags selling 1p resistors are semi-open about it (in so far as that they can't really hide it), but this to**er is actively lying to people telling them it's not just a resistor, when in fact it damn well is!

I thought they generally fooled the engine into enrichment rather than leaning out. That's where all that extra powaaah comes from, right?? Either way - total pile of crap. These people should be flogged.

Exactly what I thought when I saw it. The fact that it only has two wires coming out of the box would seem to confirm this.

Hmm...indeed! A IC fed by just two connections! It's clearly a resistor in reality, no matter how he tries to disguise it!

This may help

That idiot is in the same village as i work. Someone get his address so we can pay him a visit.

Perhaps fitting one of those boxes up his arse will make him go faster !!!
