Better air filters

Was gonna change to these-

RAMAIR Vespa Scooter - Race Pod Air Filter 65mm on eBay (end time 18-Jan-11 01:45:16 GMT)

Currently have these and been advised they're sh1te..

Honda Kawasaki Suzuki Yamaha SYM 60mm Air Filter 4pcs on eBay (end time 20-Jan-11 01:42:52 GMT)

those first ones, yep, rubbish. only good for breathers vents really.

second ones, people will probably say they're rubbish too, and you should get a sausage filter or something, but they're the kind of thing i'm going to try first, coz i don't have the space for big sausage filter with back plate

the price is right too

The price is the attraction, an ITG with blank back is over 100 buck...

Aren't those filters meant for low power bikes and so on??
The big advantage is that with a single air filter, only one inlet is sucking at a time, so effectively it has the whole filter to pull air through, so nice big area. Those bike filters are tiny, so will be very restrictive if you are after any real power.
If on a budget, stick a wanted ad on the forum. Make a backplate etc. I have a pipercross filter kicking about, but quite deep, that I would let go for not a large wedge of cash. Of course, there will be others too who may have suitable alternatives.
