Ok here goes. I am having a thought. I have a 2.0 blacktop zetec. Fresh rebuild. Original ECU, AFM, Key, chip engine wiring loom. Type 9 gearbox and several bell housings. Im thinking to get this in and working I need to spend quite abit more cash which I have not got at the mo. I will need to sort out the inlet side. Sort out the sump (I cant weld) sort out flywheels, starter motor, and so on. (Cant really be ar$ed) What I thinking is looking out for a complete pinto setup and dropping that in for the time being. I know I will be down on power, but I really dont have the time or money yet to carry on with the zetec.

What shall i do??? Am I just having a "moment" ? his is beginning to bug me now so all advise appreciated.

AAAARRRRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!

Plus Im getting a little fed up trying to flare the brake pipes. Think I must have used a roll of pipe trying and still just cant get it right........

And breathe........

Dont do it Andy.

Yes a pinto is easy to fit, set up and will give reliable power but
your zetec will be better.Persevere with finding the parts,it will be worth it.

Re: your issues with brake flaring, what tool are you using and can you put some piccies up of your attempts. Also one with the pipe in and ready to be flared would be good. Maybe we can help you sort it?

I'm sure someone on here will be able to make brake pipes for you at cost.

Its just a moment, I have them every winter. We cant all be good at every job so find some one local to give a hand.

If you have a go at the pipes yourself again then don't use copper as it work hardens. The copper/nickel alloy pipe is much better and easier to flare as well as not work hardening and cracking later on! Personally it's all I ever use. If you send me the measurements and tell me what flares you need I'll do them for you for the price of the pipe and postage.

I could do the sump for you for a reasonable fee too.

Obviously you'd have to post to me etc.

As above Andy, post up some pics of your flaring tool and results so far - I'm sure we can get you sorted.

Right, I will take some pics tomorrow night of the flaring tool, the results (please dont laugh) and hopefully someone can guide me away from going insane!!!
