Hi - couple of quick questions regarding the fuel lines / system - (sorry if this has been covered b4 - struggling to find it in the search). I am
running a vauxhall 8v engine with fire blade carbs. At the moment I have the pump near the tank at the back of the car, then comes fuel filter, then
pressure regulator, then carbs. (in engine bay)
1: Do I need a fuel return pipe after the pressure regulator running back to the top of the fule tank? If so, can I move the filter and pressure
regulator to the back of the car near the tank and pump, to minimise fuel hose length for the return?
2: Do I need a brether pipe on the top of the tank?
Thanks as always
Matt
you only really need a return if you're using fuel injection. on carbs, once the regulator is up to pressure, it'll just stop flowing fuel
through it.
and yes you need a breather system on the tank, otherwise if you go out for a drive with a full tank, it may look like an accordian when you're
done
can't remember the exact valve you need, you need one that allows gas both ways, but not liquid
Great stuff - thanks for the info.
Does this look like the one??:
