How hard are peugeot 206 1.6 clutches to do?
The clutch release bearing appears to have broken up
In 2 words, very hard. Last time I did one, 3-4 years ago, I took engine and box out together much easier than taking box of on it's own, but I do have fat hands which doesn't help.
If it's the same BE5 gearbox as on 205s then it's easy enough with (as Marc says) the engine and box out together, otherwise it's a
PITA due to lack of space, but then that's the same for most transverse engines, particularly in smaller cars.
Parts should be cheap enough from the likes of GSF Car Parts or Euro Car Parts, but always worth checking with a local factor as they're often
competitive too.
it will be an MA gearbox if its a 1600.
no major drama at all. on 106/saxo this very easy, 206 has different suspensions et up, lower ball joints bit more of a pig, but thats it really. 4
hours no problem.
only problems will be same as with any other car, seized driveshafts in hubs, seized lower ball joints etc. but if all that has been oiled last time
it was apart its piece of cake. oh and sometimes gearbox bolts seize. its an idea to crack them all off before you undo the gearbox mounts.

Did a clutch on a 2lt turbo diesel 206 today , took me 4hrs without rushing
very easy to do
Started removing the driveshafts tonight, Thort i was doing well untill i tried to remove the drivers side shaft, I undid the 2 bolts but it seem
siezed solid into the bracket How can i get it out.
Can you remove the bracket and pull out with the shaft?
Can you leave the shaft in and just pull the gearbox off?

I think thats what i might end up doing leaving it in, people have also said that the gearbx often siezes on the locating dowles
