fuel pipe

hi all
currently i am using rubber hose for fuel from tank to motorbike carbs. was thinking of switching to copper tube.
is it the 8mm stuff i require?
does it need to be specifically for fuel or will plumbers microbore tube suffice?
thanks
steve

Microbore is fine, 8mm is the usual.. but it depends on your fuel requirements

If you buy from an LPG parts shop you can get the Plastic coated copper in 6mm or 8mm bore , they usually sell in 6m lengths.

thanks guys.
another question, when i connect rubber hose to copper pipe, is it ok to just use jubilee clips to secure or do i need to flare pipe like brakes?
thanks
steve

Best to flare the ends and use fuel hose clips, like these.

Jubilee clips on fuel hoses are not a good idea, Use the proper clips shown in the link

Definitely not Jubilee clips as they often cut into the hose - even some banded type will do the same if overtightened.
I now use the Mikalor spring type clips as they apply just the right amount of pressure and will not damage the hose.

If you want a flare on a copper pipe and don't have the right tool, just solder an olive on.
