After much research I still am struggling to get the definative answer to the correct starter motor selection.

I am using a 1.8 silvertop 1994 with a type 9 gearbox. Will the LR0707 or the LRS543 (smaller body size needed i believe)
Anyway picked one up yesterday which is a LRS00707 so think the motor factors made a mistake!!!

Can anyway help....please..........

I have a 2.0L Zetec + type 9 and have the 707 starter (which I believe is the smaller diameter) and it fits and works perfectly.......I think if you have a standard 1.8 sump then this will need a some attention from an angle grinder locally on some of the lugs/ribs to allow the starter to fit........I have a shortened/modified dunnell sump and it fits perfectly.

Thanks Matt. I think the 1.8 zetec has a different flywheel which is why it concerns me whether the LR0707 will fit

I have the 1.8 Flywheel on my 2.0 set up(as it's nearly 2kg lighter) and it works perfectly.
