Weber 40's Rebuild
perksy - 25/1/11 at 09:31 PM

Helping a Mate out at the moment who is building a Westfield with a Vauxhall X16XE Engine
He bought the car as a Rolling Chassis and has been slowly building it up using the bits that came in various boxes

Know Webers are a bit old fashioned now, But their 'Old School'

One job was a Clean-up and Rebuild of the Twin Weber 40's it came with

Start

Strip Down, Clean and Check for Wear etc etc

Cleaned Up and Rebuild with Service kits, Clean & Spray Inlet Manifold

A Mate has a Blasting Cabinet, So Sorted the Top Covers

Finished

Have Another Set to do Now
These are from a Mate who is Restoring a Mk2 RS 2000
Beleive it or not the engine was running ok with these on

Superb job. What did you use as the blast media?

Thanks

The Blasting media used was Small Glass Beads

The usual grit type media seems to give a 'Rougher' finish which seems to attract Dirt and is harder to keep clean

Carb bodies were cleaned with Comma Hyperclean, Carb cleaner and a Toothbrush
