I've picked up a 2.0 zetec for my build which is going to stood a while. Anyone recommend any tips on what fluids there may be to protect it from seizing while it's stood? I'm gonna change the oil but any other tips are welcome

I don't know about engines, but for large industrial compressors, we used to use Shell Ensis. It's a sticky oil that forms a protective coating and can be removed by draining down, replacing with normal oil and simply running. I'm sure there should be something similar for engines and seem to vaguely remember seeing the term "layup oil" or something similar.

IIRC Frosts Auto Restorations sell lay up oil . Myself I would just give each bore a few squirts of oil down each bore , turn the engine over a few times before refitting the plugs. It's a good idea to turn the engine over occassionally whilst in storage
