i've got a silver top 2.0l zetec engine, and i have got no ecu or wiring loom out of the car. i was wondering if i could buy any 2.0l zetec engine loom and ecu to make the engine run????

No reason why not, you'll need a pre-"PATS" ecu, unless you want to get involved in the realms of transponder keys and immobilisers etc.

go for a megasquirt at least you will be able to map it and get the best performance there are plenty of base maps around
