RV8... EFI or Carb??
coozer - 20/2/11 at 06:41 PM

Right then, 3.9 V8 here for my Jago....

Q? Stick with the EFI or change it to Megajolt and a nice Holley carb?

Any extra horses from the Holley??

You already have the swag marra so i would stick with efi.

But a holley would sound nice and give more oomph.
I might just know where there may be a jolt coming up
for sale as well.

This is as true as the day after Monday being Tuesday.

The Holley might be ok if you were running at full throttle most of the time, if not, get the edelbrock/weber 500, and make sure it's correctly jetted for a 3.9. The edlebrock manifold is the correct unit for this carburettor.

If you've got efi then stick with it, as long as it is working perfectly, but if it isn't then the Weber is your best bet.

I have also considered this dilemma for a quite a while and have not even come near a decision.

I would LOVE to go with 8 bike Throttle bodies and Megasquirt. (It would look so COOL)
However the Bogg Bros and the Altiss Engineering Manifolds are circa £5-600 which is a silly price.

Bike T/B's and Megasquirt are the way to go, but the Manifold is the sticking point.

I am also thinking of EFI manifold etc, and a Megasquirt 'n spark.

I am currently running Webber 500 and a Mallory Electronic Dizzy, which would become redundant if I went TB's and megasquirt.

I already have 8 Honda 600 TB's, and the Megasquirt is built and tested on the bench.
Only downside is that I read that the 38mm Honda 600 TB's arent a big increase over a Std EFI which I believe are aslo 38mm dia.

I have seen Clives 4 x Metro TB's on a Modified Boxer Manifold, and that looks great, and seems to work well.
Also was no where near as expensive at the Bogg Bros or Altiss Engineering manifolds.

Its the ones with the 4x Pink Air Filters in the Yellow Viento about 3/4 way down the page
