I've just got my hands on a pair of twin 40s which I am putting on to my 1600 xflow.

Does anyone know what the jet sizes need to be for a standard set up?

I have looked at the different bits which you can get for the 40s and i'm bewildered with things like choke sizes, emulsion tubes, air jet etc..

What is the best to go for?

any help would be great

i have a phone number of a guy to speak to at webcon(weber) very knowledgeable bloke in the technical department he will be able to tell you all the jet sizes ,chokes etc his name is andy grey and the number is 01932 750203. i am presently re jetting my twin 40's and am looking at about the £200 mark but yours will depend on how much needs changing to acheive an initial set up

£200 is for new chokes ,aux ventures ,main jets,emultion tubes,air correctors,idle jets,pump jets and pump spills (all X4)

Would it work out cheaper to simply take it to a rolling road tuner?

You should only pay a second hand exchange price for the parts that need changing, AND you get it tuned.

Chances are when you put your new bits in you'll still want to get it tuned anyway.

If you haven't parted with your hard earned cash yet perhaps you could chat with a decent rolling road technician and get a better idea of what's involved.

No doubt the carb parts supplier is very happy to sell you all those nice shiny new expensive parts you're about to buy.
