Saw this on ebay Bipes ACU for mk1 Mazda Miata mx5 | eBay UK does anybody here know anything about them? Are they as good as it seems?

It's a method for getting around the standard ECU and retarding the ignition - but that's all it does.

It doesn't sense knock and retard the ignition accordingly i.e. there's no knock sensor

But it is cheap - so "you pay your money and take your choice"

Seem to remember someone mentioning the bipes acu here http://locostbuilders.co.uk/viewthread.php?tid=148857 so would it be any good for a turbo application?

Bit cheeky calling it "knock" control if it doesn't actually have any way to control knock!
