V8 crank sensor??

Instead of going a nd digging out the v8 can anyone tell me if the efi versions have a crank sensor?
I have a 3.9 efi V8 out of a classic and edis 8 with 2 coil packs. Can these be run off the original engine ecu or do I need to use my spare MS?
Hopefully I can see some Viento installations at Stoneleigh and start picking brains

The original ECU was triggered by the dizzy. I don't know about the later engines with the thor manifold.
