The last thread I found here suggested that the ford V6 (probe/cougar/mondeo) is similar to the Mazda lump as per the MX6 etc.

Does the ford unit in turn share itself with the Jag V6?

The V6 used in the Probe is the Mazda derived unit. The Mondeo/Cougar used the Duratec V6 which is a completely different engine, and which the Jag engine is derived from.
