Hi

Is there anyone in the Daventry area (Northamptonshire) that is handy with and owns a tig welder? I want to decat my exhaust. There is some beer money in it for the lucky person!!

Gave it to some guy to do and got the response 'its stainless mate....cant do it'. So left with a some mild steel flanges and a length of pipe. As you can tell, my in depth knowledge of welding is limited.

No immediate rush to get done, but maybe in the next week or two perhaps??

if you are coming around Leicester in the next couple of weeks i can wiz it up for you providing you have all the bits and now exactly how you want them positioning. i now im not exactly local but if you carnt find anyone elce and you are passing then its a possible solution.

If it's the mild stuff you want welding, I could probably do that, although it would be with a MIG so I won't be offended if you say no!

I have mild steel flanges but a stainless pipe. I assume the two can go together. If you not able to do it....no worries i'll just have to pursue my search.

Whilst the two can be mixed, you'd be better off using either all mild or all stainless. If you mix them, the mild bits will still go rusty and remove most of the point of using stainless.

I know, but if going to the bother of getting it TIGed, I'd still suggest stainless flanges. Looks much better too!
