I believe thi was the vent to a flame trap etc. in the original escort.
I have seen blanking plates for it but wonder if it would be best to fit a plate with a vent hole or tube to go to an oil catch tank.
So wondering what other have done?
Cheers

Normally breather to the inlet manifold, mine has a pipe to the catch tank.
i think turbo engines use a core plug. not sure what you do on non turbo i've used the box that it came with in to a catch tank
If you fit just an outlet, you risk the crank throwing a lot of oil up there (don't ask how I know!).
When I had mine I spoke to Dunnells who recommended I just blanked it up. So I did and had no problems whatsoever.

Fit core plug cannot remember what size, got mine of ebay for turbo conversions. You will find that you get extra gases from the camshaft breather now so pipe to a catch tank with breather/filter.
I just left the original oil breather on there and plumbed the outlet under the car to air...
plumbed mine to a catch tank with breather. It was designed with it so I personall would think it needs it, it would reduce crankcase pressure surely
I blanked mine off, no problems at all.
