
I am looking to produce a oil take-off plate similar to the one on our own install, CNC'd aluminium jobber to allow the use of a remote
filter.
Question is, on the fittings side of things I was happy to use standard BSP type hosetail fittings and the mocal rubber hose. However those more
tarty/motorsporty types may want aeroquip. Problem is of course, aeroquip is NPT.
Therefore I need to decide which way to go with the tappings into the take-off plate. So I'm just looking for a bit of feedback as to which
people prefer? Cheap simple BSP/rubber option or the more expensive but undoubtedly more professional aeroquip?
The plate will also cater for tight FWD installations where the front crossmember is close to the block (eg mk2 fiesta).
the take off plates can still be a bsp thread like the mocal ones. then if you want aeroquip fittings you can get adaptors to suit. i thenk my aeroquips were -8 with a -8 -1/2"bsp adapter!
I recently fitted sandwich plate for oil cooler on my mk3 Fiesta, i went for normal 1/2" BSP hosetail fittings and standard hose as i could cut hose to length easy and terminate with MIKALOR heavy duty clamps rather than worm drive clamps, while aeroquip is no doubt better i couldnt justify the price, but if you can get adaptors to fit BSP thread gives people the option
hel performance make custom hoses. mine were cheap i thought!
