Hi all,

I'm going to swap out my type 9 box this weekend, do i need to take engine out or can i do it with the engine in place, whats the quickest / best way?

I'd say if your gearbox mounting is fixed/welded and not wide enough to drop the box/tailshaft through then YES it has to come out in one go with the engine. Oh and put something over the tailshaft once the prop is out or you'll be doing the front crawl in a gear oil ocean

I've been having bother getting gears. 2nd, 4th & 5th are OK, 1st & 3rd ain't there. If i push donw on the gearstick you can engage 1st & 3rd most of the time. 2 weeks ago i ended up driving home in 4th as the gearstick cam of the selector in the remote, the plastic saddle was bust, i replaced it and it only lasted about 60 miles, 1st time i gave it full beans it missed 3rd, from there on i could only get 2nd, 4th & 5th. Replaced the new plastic saddle with a brass one as the plastic one was burred at the back end. the brass saddle is no better so i'm guessing it's something in the box. I've got a sprint next weekend and need to get it going again
