Hi all,

I have a blacktop zetec to a type 9 with a cut down sump as I couldn't afford the raceline sump or similar I am struggling to fit the starter motor which I think is a Lucas LRS543.

I have grinded off quite a bit of the webbing on the windage tray but its still fouling on the lip between the windage tray and the metal sump at the bottom.

Therefore is there a slimmer starter motor I can use, which starter motor do people tend to use, as I am apprehensive to grind off anymore and instead thought I would look at a smaller starter motor.

Two differant manufactures of a starter fitting the same car can have slightly differant dimension of length and width. So not as easy as saying you need x, y z but the Lucas lr707 is often refered to.
