Hi

did a dummy fit of a gearlever extention ( the ones on ebay type 9) found that the lowest piont of the
extention is only 2 mm away from the prop shaft knuckle joint ( i think its called that) i pushed the car
car back and forward, it didnt touch , but would think on the road over bumps this is sure to many contact,
any thoughts ,

Hi,

i have fitted the same extension kit to my Locost, I packed washers under the mounting plate to ensure that the propshaft did not catch the extension.

One problem that I have had is that the extension tube welding broke away very slightly making it impossible to select
reverse gear, took me ages to find out what the problem was, eventually sorted it.

Did you use the nylon piece from the original and place in the extention?

Yes,plus 2/3 washers to ensure it cleared the propshaft.
