There was a 1.6 and a 1.8 Boxer engine from Subaru - both available NA I believe?

Looks like a Subaru EA81.... Used a lot in the states in homebuilt aircraft came in the subaru pickup and justy I believe

I had one in my hovercraft... would happily sit at 4,500 RPM for hours on end :-D

Looks like an old EA series Subaru engine. Not a very exciting lump, pushrod valve operation and not a lot of power. Then again, it's probably like an F1 engine in comparison to the clanker that used to reside in that engine bay.

Subaru EA Engine specs.

thanks guys, I'll have a look for one then. Even a simple engine like that will be way faster than my wheezy 1200 bug engine, that only has 30hp
