Anyone ever made their own intake plenum from carbon fibre?

Dont have a TIG welder and looking at other options for custom making something for a tight space.

Something this shape but with less depth.

Is it a plenum (after a single throttle body) or an airbox (before the throttle body/bodies) you're after as the former will need to be much stronger due to the loads imposed on it by the vacuum.

I did something similar for my ZX12 out of CF. Wrote up the process here :-

btw - used a kit from carbon mods to actually make the mould and cast the airboxes, made about 5 now from the one mould.

I'm going to run bike carbs with forced induction, no more than 8-10psi.
Neighbour of mine makes acoustic guitars out of carbon fibre and said it would be well capable of the task...
seems like it will be tricky to seal tho, would need to be in 2 halfs with some sort of sealed lip... alu may be better. More research! Thanks for the info and the link
