What diff - Sierra 2.0 GLS?
rb968 - 21/10/11 at 02:25 PM

Can anyone enlighten me as to what diff was found in a 2.0l GLS Sierra?

I know its push in shaft which is what I want, been offered one someone has spare but its buried in a garage and I was trying to find out what ratio it will be. I currently have a 3.62 non LSD 7" sierra diff but its making some noise and got a lot of play on the prop flange (pinion)

Anyone know? Had a search but not found anything.

Cheers

Rich

most 2.0 cars had 3.92 - but the axle code on the vin plate will confirm that:

Ratio Code
3.14 M
3.36 A
3.38 V
3.62 U
3.64 3
3.92 D

Thanks Jacko and others. Gives me some hope it may be the same as the one I have so I can swap it over. Just hoping its in better nick.

I m hoping to drop the existing diff out to have a better look at it, so might be after advice on whether its just knackered or even worth trying to rebuild.

For the £50 he is asking I am tempted to try this other one. Mine has lots of play on the prop flange. How much is normal?

In my 2.0 glsi it had a 7.5" open 3.14 with lobro's look on the vin plate for the axle type or get the code off of the tag on the back of the diff.
