big_wasa - 25/1/12 at 09:17 PM

Its on my shopping list for my next project But never used emerald. Wired lotts of other brands.

Whats the problem ? You will need more info of what its doing and not.

i just need an emerald expert if theres any mappers out there! to do with the ignition drivers and trigger patterns

Nash - 25/1/12 at 09:41 PM

I have the K6 installed on mine. When I first installed it I had a few problems getting it to fire up. I rang Dave Walker at Emerald (although I didn't buy direct from him) and he emailed me a map to get it running. It fired up on that and ran ok.

Have you rang Dave?

going to ring him tomo tho they supplied a base map when i bought it what engine are you running? the strange thing is
mines 24-2 and only 22-1 is listed. now they said if i select 22-1 it would actually be 24-2!?? sounds a bit random. when i fire it it just spits back and coughs then fuels up as if the timings out

needforspeed - 25/1/12 at 09:46 PM

also theres no options for where it picks up leading or trailing edge of the pick up

ashg - 25/1/12 at 09:52 PM

im actually contemplating taking it to him then i can just collect it finished!

Nash - 25/1/12 at 10:00 PM

My setup up is a 2.0L Zetec on Jenveys. Is your timing 180 degrees out? I've seen that before?

needforspeed - 25/1/12 at 10:09 PM

ive tried changing them round on the ignition driver page? its so close to going

Nash - 25/1/12 at 10:12 PM

Do you have enough juice in the battery? May be a silly question but I had a problem. Also when turning it over do you get a red / green pulsing light on the side of the ECU?

needforspeed - 25/1/12 at 10:14 PM

yep its all correct its definately down to a setting or them giveing me a bum steer with the trigger pattern. but they seem to have an exeptional rep

Nash - 25/1/12 at 10:21 PM

This is my car on the rollers at Emerald last Jan after the install. Thats Dave in the drivers seat doing his thing. It is a thing of beauty to watch AND what a difference. Stick with it and you will find something obvious I'm sure.

Get a bog std timing light and check it's firing at the right time with regards to TDC. That'd be your first port of call IMHO
