Well after finding out which flywheel I have (1.8 zetec) and being told the release bearing is a cct133 I put it all back together , but the release
arm no longer fully releases and some tension is still on the cable. There is no cable adjustment I can see . So is the ccct133 too long? The old
broken bearing was 10mm shorter but I thought this had been the wrong one fitted . Or do I have the right flywheel but a different clutch plate and
cover? Any ideas how to identify , I'll get the part numbers stamped on the cover. Any other ideas for the correct bearing? The other option is
to shorten the welded tube that is attached to the bulkhead which the cable sleeve sits on.
Thanks guys and gals!
If you are using a Ford clutch cable then the adjuster is down at the bell housing end of it, where the cable locates at the end of the bell. If you are not using a Ford cable then I would suggest that you find an old cable from the scrappy and modify the one that you have got. HTH Ray
Can't tell what cable it is, there is nut on both ends but neither offers adjustment. Does anyone have an
Old cable they want to part with? I'll get a picture up late of what I have .
Hi all , can people tell me what the length of a escort/Capri clutch cable is please.
Escort cable for RS alloy bell is 800 long and inner protrudes a further 140mm. There is about 60 mm of adjustment at the clutch end by moving 2 nuts along the threaded portion.
1300 capri cable
outer inc adjuster 670mm inner 790mm total length.
There is about 65 mm of adjustment at the clutch end.

Escort Mk2 (QH part. QCC1061) Outer including adjuster 560mm, inner 755mm with about 70mm of adjustment.
Easiest solution is to remove the cable, put both nuts on one end of the cable outer threaded extension so you can have adjustment then remove enough
of the metal sleeve at the pedal box to allow the clutch to release and have some adjustment available. Then adjust so the bearing is against the
diaphragm fingers with light pressure. There should be no slack in the system. Sierra incorporates a spring in the system to maintain this pressure of
the bearing against the fingers. CCT133 is right for 1800 mondeo flywheel and clutch.

IIRC the Burtons catalogue list several cables along with lengths
