Ford gearbox bellhousing bolts - size?
Dave Ashurst - 15/4/12 at 04:36 PM

A bit of a long-shot ..

Any idea what size bolts attach the bellhousing to a ford type C gearbox?

I need to fit a replacement gearbox into my car in a hurry and I'm stuck. I've got an old type C (from a hillclimb mallock) which would do if I could bolt the bellhousing back on. Problem is I can't find the original bolts and I can't find a single bolt that will fit, anywhere in my garage.

The ones from a rocket box (that a 19mm socket fit) are too fat.

thanks in advance
D

I'm pretty sure they will be 3/8 UNC, couldn't tell you the lengths though...

If you need to borrow a type 9 dave just say. I've got a spare in the old skool ford parts store. I used to have a type C but I think that was given to someone. I can check if you need & you can have the bolts short term if i've got it.
