old ford gearbox identification

Hi all,
i have a couple of old ford gearbox's that came with my car when i bought it, i have no idea what they are what they came off. Is there a list of ref numbers like on the diffs to help me identify them?

well one of them looks a bit like a type 3 but not exactly, will try and put some pics up later.

Type 3 and type E respectively for my money.

Think that is probably correct, easy check on the first one if its a type 3 then it will have a 7/8" 20 spline input shaft, type "E" will be 1" and 23 splines. HTH Ray
