A little Pinto advice please.
My mate has got one in his campervan.
When hot it misses a bit and backfires when he turns it off.
I was thinking I'll give it a full service, to include new plugs, plug leads, dizzy cap/rotor and leads etc as a starting point.
Any thoughts on what else may need doing ?
Is it worth putting on electronic ignition ?
I was thinking it may need the carb reconditioning or replacing.
Where does everyone get their Pinto service items from ? - is there a preferred supplier or just the local motor factor ?
Thanks
Rob

If points ignition then a new of contact breakers correctly gapped (nb. Set correct gap for type of distributor ie. Bosch or Ford) and a check of the
the ignition timing is always the first step for 1970s Ford's.
Check for vacuum leaks ie examine hoses and check carb and inlet manifold flanges for leaks.
