Couldnt decide where to post this. Basically for the track day I am doing next month at donington, the car cant be over 98db.
I know mine is quite loud, so i'm a little concerned. Its straight pipe from the manifold all the way to a cherry bomb backbox (was a quick fix
to replace a very holed one, but does sound quite nice
) Its a 2.0 pinto engine. Has anyone had there's noise tested and how did you get on?
Put a nice lump of stainless steel wool in the exhaust, heard that lowers the noise a bit. Then wip it out as you go onto the track

Then watch for the black flag coming out. They're not stupid. Get a box to fit in the straight pipe, just cut a section out and clamp it in.

You reckon it'll fail then?

Not unless you get the engine running!!!![]()
(Sorry, couldn't resist...)
You have exhaust length on your side, which most Locosts don't have, and that will help. But I personally doubt that a small straight through cherry bomb will be enough to get on/stay on track at an average Donington trackday TBH...
I had a feeling that it probably would fail
