Liam,

Don't know the current cost but they were around £1k this time last year as the breakers were playing the supply and demand game and I think that the sports 2000 class were snapping them up. I ended up buying a new 2.3 from Scholar. It was one that had been imported from the States. A few have come up on ebay since and on duratecperformance.co.uk.

Be aware though that there were a lot of motors being sold as 2l but were 1.8's. The engine number indicates the capacity but watch out for tampered numbers.

Make sure that you do all the sums though as they aren't the cheapest of engines to install. I kept the costs down on mine by fabricating a lowline sump, using a Megasquirt and careful ebaying for throttle bodies etc.

Cheers,

Colin

Environ are no longer selling to the public. Only to motor traders. That might account for why the website is inaccesable

Hower these guys do some nice Duratecs

http://www.mountune.co.uk/shop.html

They do a 270BHP version if you've got £12k !!!!!!

I think this is the number for Environ - 01245 235200.

In case you know someone in the trade who can call on your behalf.

Unfortunatley the common problem with cars from breakers is that it is the front, that has been damaged, either with heavy impact, or fire, both of which render the engine useless

And what with the MondeoMazda 6 being hard to source, due to being so new, its even harder trying to find a damaged car, let alone one without engine damage. Because after all it must have been a pretty serious incident to render the car scrappable by the insurance company.

Check out here

Is quite a good site...lots of vehicles and offer delivery

Hope this helps

fms are good for bits.. Ive had bits off them a few times. Decent ppl to deal with and reasonable prices.. Plus the advantage they are opposite the Ford place in dagenham..

The engine from this would be a beast..
