Anyone know if the 6A12/6A13 FTO/Galant V6 will bolt up to a rwd Mitsubishi gearbox (Starion or L300 van)?
afaik all the 4G** 4-cylinder engines (1970's to 2005) have the same bolt pattern (fwd and rwd), and the fwd Lancer and Galant are available with
the choice of a 4G** I4 or a 6A** V6.
This V6 looks very compact and light, with up to 200bhp from the 2 litre MIVEC FTO
and a great exhaust sound
most of the swapping engines and gearboxes is uncharted territory, unless your lucky enough to find someone who has already tried the combination.
sounds theres a good chance of it working from what you said though.

Nice idea
I used to have an FTO, great car but front wheel drive was the limiting factor.
A guy I know had a Galant VR4 2.5TT lump shipped over from NZ and had that fitted to an FTO. It was about an 18 month project, and certainly not an
easy fit. It is a quick car now though, running 12 second 1/4's I think (front wheel drive remember).
Think the next project is FTO meets Evo drivetrain. Would be nice to see a rear-wheel drive FTO though, but I suspect that's never going to be a
reality.
Sorry can't really help on whether any of the RWD gearboxes will mate up, just brought back FTO memories
