can anyone tell me the normal operating temo range of my 98 blade engine in my st bec? its been a while since my r1 but i pretty much remeber that in
the summer she used to run over the 100's? any ideas of normal temps in the bec, and extreme capable temps etc? mine doesnt have a cooling fan

you're pushing your luck aren't you? Personally I'd put one on ASAP. The resulting degredation of oil at high
temperatures (110+) would be catastrophic for the engine. However, as our's didn't trigger that often, typical slow, non-stop road driving
should be ok. But I'd still putone on to be sure!
thanks, yes my normal usage is popping here n there or out for a blt and it doesnt see temps of more than the 80's even on a hot day in traffic,
im toying with selling it as i need some money fairly quick (secretly hope that no one buys it though) 
is s-v-c the cheapest/stroke best place

mine runs around 86deg, no fan is an uneccessary risk really as they are cheap and could save your engine IMHO!!

looks like ill be getting a fan then, i presume they come with some sort of fitting kit? if i order one of svc?

pacet kit in the post and will be fitted in the next couple of days 
fans now fitted, what temp would you guys recommend that i clicj the fan on, its on a thermostat and youre supposed to let the engine temp get to
around "highway" temp?? and then wind the dial thingy, whats the general consensus though? 70deg?
also the way ive wired it the fan is behind the rad, ie between the rad and engine and its pulling, ie sucking air from the rad in, is that right or
should i re-wire so its blowing?

The fan doesnt want to be kicking in until nearly 100c, on the bike its actually slightly over 100c I seem to recall.
