Hey Up,
I'm fitting a five speed Granada box in place of my Cortina four speeder.
The bit where the speedo drive fits is a round hole with an electronic unit in it - three wires out.
I'd like to keep the same insruments so I'd like a cable drive.
Now I've looked at a another five speed box which HAS a cable drive - it's completely different - it has a raised collar round a smaller
hole.
So the question is:-
Is there a cable drive that fits in he round hole I've got in my box?
I know it's a later type nine, did all the later ones have the electronic unit?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers
Chris
sorry, can't help but i'd love your electronic unit when you remove it.

It's yours Mike! It's still got the plug and a couiple of inches of wire the other side of the plug
By the looks of things I'm going to have to forget the cable drive speedo and get an electronic one.
I'll need to work out how to block the hole in the transmission but U2U me your address and I'll post it to you.
Anyone any idea?
Cheers
Chris
I have a similar issue with a ford t5 but it has both electric and mech output. but no room to bend the cable- my donor car came with a digital dash
which I dont want to use. I have a set of smiths from a mgb and the cable and 90 deg drive but am considering pulling the inards of the mechanical
speedo and putting the guts of a factory electric one in. Dont know if its do able yet.
