hows it going i'm hoping some one on here will be able to help me out, i'v been given a challnage to build a fast 1.1 car, i have a rover 1.1 8v, i no you can fit the 16v head on but the valves come down to much for the pistons, would changing the crank and the conds from a 1.4 into mine will this allow clearnce between piston and valve???? any other help and tuning info on k series would be great. later
I would have thought that that would increase the capacity of the engine?
Prehaps a cam profile with reduced lift would be the answer?
what do others think?

1.4 is simply a long stroke version of the 1.1 the bore size is the same.
Fitting a 1.4 crank into a 1.1 will turn it into a 1.4.
With the true removeable liner version introduced in the mid 90s the blocks of all the 4 cylinder k series 1.1 to 1.8 were identical.
However it may be possible to machine 1.1 K8 pistons to clear the k16 valves.

) Why not fit a bike engine. that would make it a fast 1.1
