I know that it's a good idea to use -4 hose for clutch pipework, but pricing up the fittings to do a nice job of piping up my concentric
hydraulic clutch is looking at the thick end of £60 and I already have the -4 aeroquip hose!!!!

Will -3 hose (normal brake line aeroquip) be ok or will it cause a sluggish clutch release??? I ask because the -3 fittings are 1/4 of the price!!!
i used to work for Pirtek( the hyd hose people) and i piped up a special Golf gti. Used -3 hose and fittings for the clutch with no ill effect
Shame i dont work there now cos with used to get a massive discount from goodridge
eg. I could buy in a 4 line hose kit, add 30% and vat, the selling price was less than goodridges rrp less vat

Bet i would of got lots of orders of here!
I have used normal 3/16" brake pipe to plumb the clutch on a Davrian from pedal box to rear engine bay with a standard Imp front brake hose going to the slave cylinder with no noticeable ill effect.
cheers folks, that's exactly what I was hoping to hear, a couple of experiences that were ok!
I'll use -3, 3/16 stuff then, just knocked me about £40 off the build!
glad to be of help
