will the zetec bolt onto the same gearbox as the kent?
next question will the exhaust still exit on the same side?
(soory bit clueless on the zetec motors)
thanks
the exhaust exits from the drivers side
so that will need changing!
the boxes are different (mating faces= bolt pattern)
from what i remember so will not fit
hope im not too wrong !!
cheers paul

The Zetec engine has the exhaust exit on the passenger side, which I thought was the same as the crossflow.
With regards the the type 9 I again thought that the bolt patterns were the same (although a new crud plate would need to be made).
I am sure there is someone that has done this who can confirm for sure.

Zetec exhaust left hand side, you could even use your crossflow manifold if you fitted a Zetec head flange plate, not ideal but Locost!!
Zetec bolts straight onto type 9 , with applicable clutch /release bearing
1.8 CVH starter motor can be used
Short sump needed , can be bought from Scholar , Raceline,Dunnell etc, or modify your own if you can ally weld.
Zetec taller than crossflow so may have to change nosecone or make a bulge.....

If you only have a 4 speed gearbox, I would recommend upgrading to a 5 speed (or better) Type 9 at the same time.
early zetec same as xflow same box pattern exhaust exits same side

i have a 4speed and would like to keep it now to save on costs.
the current starter motor bolts onto the bellbousing? - but that not still be able to work - IF the gearring on the flywheels is the same size etc?
You need a starter from something like a 1.8 CVH Sierra. Will bolt straight up.

Mine was from Pinto to Zetec but I have some of the Zetec before it was installed if they would help.
If so, let me have your e-mail address.
