36-1 Trigger Wheels
oliwb - 23/11/05 at 05:08 PM

Does anyone know of a good place to get hold of one with a centre, and whats the best way to fit them?? I went and bought the lot together including ht leads on ebay for £40 (not too bad I thought) except the trigger wheel I got with it is a 4.5 inch ring type one and can't see any easy way of mounting onto my pinto! Gonna sell this one on the bay I think in order to fund the new one but are there any ones that work better than another??? Any comments greatly recieved.....Oli.

yeh have been looking at those and e-mailed the guy (not you is it??) Bit pricey for me....am a poor impoverised student (and besides my loan hasn't come through yet! ) It's the postage thats the killer actually...apart from that they look perfect.....whats the best way to fix them onto the crank pulley so that they can't rotate??? Cheers Oli.

Some modify the one that is fitted as standard to the 1800cvh .....

There is a bent tin trigger wheel that ford dealers stock apparently , I dont know which cars it was fitted too, but think it may be granada and some CVH sierras.Ive seen some pics of it on web sites and it is apparently only about £14.
I used the wheel off of an 1800cvh and fitted it to a homemade pulley.

I agree - 1800 CVH - same as I used.

Theres an article in Decembers PPC. They mounted one of these wheels to a crossflow pulley. Looks a bit of a bodge to me but obviously works , the part number is quoted as Ford number1078767 cost approx £13 as fitted to DOHC and possibly CVH sierras and granadas.
