I've got the option of either gsx750 or cbr1000 carbs to go on my 4age engine, both are early type units.

Which do people think is best to use?

The gsx units are in the garage if i use them, what angle do they have to be mounted at?

ATB Dan.

Bike Crabs? You'll be doing this from scratch then? Seriously though use the larger choke size which I assume will be the CBR thou. Only prob with the early carbs is that they are mounted on a slight curve. If I were you I'd look out for CBR1100 (Blackbird) or later CBR thou - these were the better flat slide Keihin VPs and are all square to the inlet. Ebay has them on all the time and they need not cost a lot (although getting the correct mains, pilot and needles can be costly) HTH

I've found that the smaller crabs you find at low tide to work best with bike engines.

IF you find that your electrics keep going off and you can't find the reason - some little rubber bands on the crabs pincers will sort it out.

Crabs are slightly complicated to install but worth the effort - good luck!

My carbs are from a Suzuki 750wm, they are mounted so that the float chamber joint is more or less level.

Mine are 38mm bore are yours the same?
