Ford engine age
donut - 30/11/05 at 05:39 PM

I have sent the letter off to Ford requesting the age of my pinto for SVA but was wondering if this info was officially available on the net. I have had a look but can't find anything except for one site that only goes back to 1990.

Thanx Geoff but there's no engine numbers on that site, just Vin numbers.

if you try this web site
http://www.toyne.org.uk/kit-car/zetec.html
there is a page for engine ages and a UA comes in at november 1978.
doubt it would do for sva though.

Yep you're right. That would figure as my engine block is not a 205 block.

Well it's been fully re built so should be ok.

Just had a thought, when did the rules change for emissions? I may get away with just a visual!! YAY!

A Ford engine number is the last seven digits from the chassis number of the car from which it originated

Ok but seeing as i only have the engine number and not the vin number, the vin decoder won't accept just engine numbers.
