I HAVE JUST BOUGHT AN ALLOY SUMP FROM A WESTFIELD FOR MY CROSSFLOW IT IS AN ALLOY SUMP WHICH HAS A FLAT BOTTOM TO IT THE SUMP MEASURES 6INCH FROM THE
RIM TO THE BASE MY QUESTION IS DOES ANY ONE KNOW HOW MUCH OIL THIS SHOULD TAKE?
MANY THANKS
WWW.GMPMOTORSPORT.CO.UK
i bought the a caterham 1, not alloy the steel is it the extended and baffled 1, you should be able to go by the dipstick still as the level will be
the same if you look at the old one,
did it come with the pick up if not make sure you shorten at the pickup end and not the top.
THE THING THAT IS BAFFLING ME IS THAT THE SUMP ALTHOUGH IS THE SAME DEPTH AS THE ORIGINAL IT IS LONGER DOES THIS MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE YES IT IS BAFFLED
AS AM I AND I DID GET THE PICK UP PIPE WITH IT THANKS

Sorry!
Is it just a case of adding enough oil then to take it up to the same level as the original one then. The last thing i want to do is over
fill/underfill with oil.
Cheers
Gary
just go to original dipstick put both sumps together and youll see the top baffle the 1 sitting horizontal will be the same height as the original
