Zetec Height.

One for the Zetec boys...

Can anyone tell me how high/tall a zetec engine is? Just a rough figure will do.

Cheers.

I've just measured an 1800 and a 2litre from top of cam cover at highest point to the deepest part of the sump.

2000 = 25.5 inches

1800 = 24 inches ( you could argue it 24 and a quarter but most people would go for a chopped sump anyway)

hope this helps

There are a lot of good (and official Ford) measurements here:

The difference in height is all in the sump, from the bottom of the block to the top of the cam cover they are exactly the same.

Yes micks right re sump,i did forget to mention that a lot of people swap the 1880 sump and pick up onto the 2 litre engine,although from the cars i have seen the 1800 sump only gives good ground clearance if you sit the engine high.
